The NGEOA training program is an intensive 8-week course designed to take you from zero experience to job-ready heavy equipment operator. Our curriculum combines classroom instruction with extensive hands-on training on real equipment.

Week 1-2

Foundations & Safety

  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification
  • Equipment identification and terminology
  • Pre-operation inspection procedures
  • Site safety and hazard recognition
Week 3-4

Excavator Operations

  • Excavator controls and operation
  • Digging techniques and grading
  • Trenching and backfilling
  • Loading trucks and material handling
Week 5-6

Loader & Skid Steer Operations

  • Skid steer controls and attachments
  • Wheel loader operation
  • Material moving and stockpiling
  • Precision work and finishing
Week 7-8

Advanced Skills & Job Placement

  • Site reading and blueprint basics
  • Laser level and grade work
  • Resume building and interview prep
  • Employer introductions and job placement

Equipment You'll Operate

Students receive extensive hands-on training on multiple types of heavy equipment commonly used in construction, site development, and infrastructure projects.

Digging, trenching, grading, and material handling. Learn controls, safety, and precision work.

Wheel Loader

Material moving, stockpiling, and loading trucks. Master bucket operation and site efficiency.

Backhoe

Versatile digging and loading. Train on both front bucket and rear excavator functions.

Skid Steer

Compact equipment for tight spaces. Learn attachment changes and precision maneuvering.

OSHA 10-Hour Certification

Every student earns their OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification during the first two weeks of training. This nationally recognized credential is required or strongly preferred by most construction employers.

The OSHA 10 course covers critical safety topics including:

  • Fall protection and scaffolding safety
  • Electrical safety and hazard recognition
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Excavation and trenching safety
  • Heavy equipment hazards and prevention
  • Emergency response and first aid basics
